Bees at Work

Where Do We Get our Beeswax?

  • All of our beeswax comes from Sweet Sting Honey in Flagstaff. The owner, Adam Arp, is a 2nd generation beekeeper in Flagstaff and his bees pollinate flowers all over AZ!

  • Order some amazing local honey from him by sending an email:

  • sweetstinghoney@gmail.com

Why Support Beekeepers?

  • Bees are Vital Pollinators: Bees play a crucial role in pollinating 70% of the crops we eat, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, and coffee!

  • Environmental Preservation: By supporting beekeepers, you help preserve bee populations, which are essential for maintaining healthy ecosystems.

  • High-Quality Products: Beekeepers produce raw honey, beeswax, and other goods that are healthier and more sustainable than mass-produced alternatives.

  • Encourages Ethical Practices: Supporting local beekeepers promotes humane and sustainable practices in bee farming.

Candle Care Tips:

  • If your candle flame seems low, simply pick up the candle and pour out excess wax into your dish and watch the flame rise anew!

  • For rolled & dipped candles, place them on a dish and keep an eye on them because they are prone to dripping and burn down somewhat quickly compared to poured candles!

  • For smaller candles such as tea lights and votives, burn for no less than one hour per session so the wax melts out close to the edge. Burn all the way to the edge if in a container.

  • For larger candles like pillars, burn for 1 hour per inch in diameter (e.g. 3" pillar should be burned for at least 3 hours per session). This ensures that the wick burns the candle evenly out to the edge and helps to avoid tunneling and relighting issues.

  • The easiest & smoke free way to extinguish candles is by gently pushing the wick into the wax pool with a tool or toothpick until its extinguished then puling the wick straight.

  • Trim the wick to 1/4" before each use to prevent uneven burning & dripping. If the wick is 1/4" before relighting, still trim a small piece off of the top. This will help your 100% cotton wick burn properly

  • It's best to store beeswax candles out of direct heat & sunlight, however they do not expire. Aged beeswax candles develop a white film known as "blooming" and burn longer with even more beauty than freshly made ones.

Miraculous Benefits of Beeswax Candles:

  • Natural Air Purifier: When burned, beeswax emits negative ions, which help remove pollutants like dust, mold, and toxins from the air. They work better than some air purifying machines! It's almost like beeswax was designed to be turned into candles. 🤔

  • Clean Burning: Beeswax candles burn 20% longer and infinitely cleaner than paraffin candles, emitting zero toxins & little to no smoke or soot. ✨️

  • Non-Toxic: Beeswax is free from harmful chemicals and artificial fragrances often found in other candles.🐝

  • Delightful Natural Scent: Beeswax candles have a mild, honey-like aroma that is calming and pleasant. 🍯

  • Eco-Friendly: They are biodegradable and renewable, making them a sustainable choice for candle-making. 💛
